Sunday Forum - On Sundays following worship we gather to learn about ways to engage our faith - this fall we'll study the Bible, creation and sustainable practices, and expansive welcome.
Centering Prayer - Tuesdays at 12:15PM - Koch Chapel. Centering Prayer is a silent prayer of conversation with God. We begin 20 minutes of silent prayer promptly at 12:15, then have a 20-25 minute meditative discussion about the upcoming Gospel text. Quilting - We have a casual and friendly group of quilters who gather from 10-12 the third Tuesday of each month. Just show up! Coordinator: Kathie Miller.
Caring Ministries - Visit, send cards, and make phone calls to members who are unable to join us in person. Bring joy, friendship, and communion. Coordinator: Bonnie Phelps.
Reconciling in Christ - we are learning about how we can not only welcome but also affirm LGBTQ+ people and those who love them. Ongoing conversations this fall and spring. Coordinator: Mel Bowman.

Handbell Choir - Bell Choir will begin rehearsing again on Monday, September 30th at 6:30 PM in the Sanctuary. This is a perfect opportunity to come check out this happy group and help us create joyous, uplifting music. We welcome anyone who wants to ring and is willing to learn. Overview
Growing in Faith: The Diakonia Program is a 40+ year old ministry within the ELCA committed to fostering learning environments for followers of Jesus to grow in faith. The program has recently added new course curriculum and more flexibility with a Foundation Year and optional subsequent Practical Year tracks.
Community of Disciples
There are currently two Growing in Faith Diakonia communities in the Grand Canyon Synod with the Online cohort and hybrid communities in Metro Phoenix (which meets both in-person and online) offering classes, retreats, and mutual care to equip followers of Jesus to live out their faith. Students from all over the country are now enrolling in courses offered through our online communities.
Faith Development Foundation Year & Road to Service Practical Year–
Six 5 Week Classes Each Year
A two-year curriculum allows folks to progress through foundational and practical learning. The program welcomes people where they are in their faith understanding and challenges them to grow to a deeper level. There is a one time $25 Enrollment Fee and $70 Tuition Fee per class.

Via de Cristo (“way of Christ”) is a three-day retreat based on the fundamentals of Christianity, concentrating on the person and teachings of Jesus Christ. The purpose is to inspire, challenge, and equip local church members for Christian action in their homes, churches, and communities.
This year, the retreat is from Thursday evening, Oct. 10th through Sunday evening, Oct. 13th. It will be held at Tanque Verde Lutheran Church where there is space for sleeping and showers are available. This co-ed weekend is provided at no cost to participants and is open to baptized adult Christians. (Although this retreat is sponsored by Lutherans, it is open to other Christian denominations as well.) You’ll meet fellow Christians from across southern Arizona in learning and fellowship.

Many in our community face hunger or food insecurity every day. ICS provides food boxes and mobile meals to help those in need. Donations of canned and packaged non-perishable food items: canned meats, cereal, pasta and pasta sauce, rice, beans and personal hygiene items. Please put donations in the shopping cart on the patio on Sundays.
Mission: TIHAN provides community resources and caring support so that people with HIV can live well. Through education, we work to encourage everyone to get tested, get involved, and reduce the stigma of HIV.
