Baptismship is a made-up word that helps us think about how we are living out our baptism. Worship can be described as "proclaiming God's worth."
Baptismship means proclaiming God's baptismal covenant with us.
In baptism, we receive "the glorious promise that we are children of God, and nothing in all of creation will separate us from the love of God in Christ..." (Daniel Erlander, "Come to the Water").
Baptismal Covenant
+to live among God's faithful people
+the hear the word of God and share in the Lord's supper
+to proclaim the good news of God in Christ through word and deed
+to serve all people, following the example of Jesus, and
+to strive for justice and peace in all the earth
(Evangelical Lutheran Worship)
On Sunday morning, we gather for WORSHIP. We are sent out for lives of BAPTISMSHIP.
